Da sa Mardokeus: Gud har gjort disse tingene.

Then Mardocheus said, God hath done these things.

For jeg husker en drøm jeg så angående disse sakene, og ingenting derav har slått feil.

For I remember a dream which I saw concerning these matters, and nothing thereof hath failed.

En liten kilde ble til en elv, og det var lys, og solen, og mye vann: denne elven er Esther, som kongen giftet seg med og gjorde til dronning.

A little fountain became a river, and there was light, and the sun, and much water: this river is Esther, whom the king married, and made queen:

Og de to dragene er jeg og Haman.

And the two dragons are I and Aman.

Og nasjonene var de som var samlet for å utslette navnet til jødene.

And the nations were those that were assembled to destroy the name of the Jews:

Og min nasjon er dette Israel, som ropte til Gud, og ble frelst: for Herren har frelst sitt folk, og Herren har befridd oss fra alt det onde, og Gud har gjort tegn og store under, som ikke har vært gjort blant hedningene.

And my nation is this Israel, which cried to God, and were saved: for the Lord hath saved his people, and the Lord hath delivered us from all those evils, and God hath wrought signs and great wonders, which have not been done among the Gentiles.

Derfor har han laget to lodder, ett for Guds folk, og et annet for alle hedningene.

Therefore hath he made two lots, one for the people of God, and another for all the Gentiles.

Og disse to loddene kom på timen, tiden, og dommens dag, foran Gud blant alle nasjonene.

And these two lots came at the hour, and time, and day of judgment, before God among all nations.

Så husket Gud sitt folk, og rettferdiggjorde sin arv.

So God remembered his people, and justified his inheritance.

Derfor skal disse dagene være for dem i måneden Adar, den fjortende og femtende dag i samme måned, med en samling, glede og fryd foran Gud, gjennom generasjonene for alltid blant hans folk.

Therefore those days shall be unto them in the month Adar, the fourteenth and fifteenth day of the same month, with an assembly, and joy, and with gladness before God, according to the generations for ever among his people.
